Anastasia Savinova

Anastasia holds an impressive CV of European exhibitions, residencies and awards. She is born in the USSR and now living in Sweden. Anastasia’s artistic practise revolves around photography investigating spaces and architecture, often with a focus on decay.

The ambience in her works is both familiar and alienated. Merging and manipulating photographs digitally she creates dreamy images of amorphous  buildings that often exhume both humour and unheimlichkeit.

Anastasia’s photographic/digital works are calm and beautiful and their mysterious feel allows the spectator to wonder.

Hannah Carvell

Hannah is a British screen print wizard, who’s been featured in publications such as Daily Telegraph, Sunday Times and Stylist Magazine. Working out of her own studio, she is a master of flourescent colour and motifs with a pun(chline).

We convinced her to step away from the silk screen for a minute to create digital artworks for aparte.works – while, off course, staying true to her vibrant colurscheme and tongue-in-cheek approach to art.

Hannah’s artworks will put a piece of the rainbow on your wall and a smile on your face.

Matías Larraín

Starting his life and creative education in visual communication design in Mendoza in Argentina, Matías later moved from one wine country to another; he now resides and works in France, where his bike rides in nature provides inspiration for his art and illustrations.

Matías’ contribution to Aparte is a series of poetic birds. The three Aparte art prints depict birds adorned with symbols. The illustrations show Matías’ love for finding greatness in small things, plus a sense of freedom, and search for the positive things in life.

Matías prefers to use only a few elements in his illustrations. He likes imperfect shapes and naive lines. His method is mostly digital, but he gives his illustrations a more ‘traditional’ form by using brush and pencil effects.

Rebecca Zwanzig

The creative world of Nevada-based artist Rebecca Zwanzig draws on nostalgia: Childhood memories and impressions from fauna and flora.

She works with acrylic and gouache colours, Posca markers, and digital illustration in a retro colour scheme consisting of burnt orange, brown, and rosy hues.

Rebecca’s contribution to the Aparte collection is serpentine and flowery illustrations with a 1970’s – yet modern – feeling to them. Pure ‘Summer of Love’ in a frame.

Varya Yakovleva

Living in Moscow, Varya has been studying painting, illustration and animation and is a graduate from Kaluga College of Fine Arts. She’s working within the fields of animation films and illustration. She’s been illustrating magazines, books and websites and participating in various exhibitions.

Varyas approach to the creative work is a fearless take on art; not being afraid of making mistakes, but growing and learning from them, and using flaws to break new ground.

In cooperation with aparte.works Varya is using her creative forces to tell stories through drawings of sportsmen and palm groves. Varyas unique technique – a combination of pencil-drawn silhuettes and painted cut-out elements – adds movement and layers to the motif.
